With offices in Tokyo and Kyoto and staff in Europe, Luxury Tours Japan offers fully organized tours of Japan, tailor-made in each instance to meet the specific needs of our customers. Drawing on our background as a curator of exclusive cultural experiences, our specialty are journeys that introduce and connect our customers with the deep cultural heritage of Japan and the artisans behind these rich traditions, while showing our customers the best of the country. We work directly with individual travelers and the trade alike.

Tailormade tours

Based on our customer brief, we plan, design and organise journeys throughout Japan for individual travelers and private groups. Whether liaising with individual artisans, booking the perfect ryokan escape or an intimate Japanese restaurant meal, or working with our expert bilingual guides to plan the most picturesque way to explore the country, we offer customers the full range of services for their Japan adventure.

Special interest tours

We have deep experience working with travelers who have a particular interest in aspects of Japanese life and culture, whether Japanese architecture and building techniques, the country’s food culture, its rich textile crafts, woodmaking traditions or garden design – whatever their field of interest. With our extensive network of artisans and specialists across the country, we can accommodate any request for a special interest trip.

Incentive Tours and other large groups

We have strong experience in planning and organizing tailored cultural tours & programs, events, functions and gala dinners for the MICE market and other large conventions. Please get in touch if you’d like us to suggest something unique to make your next conference & incentive tour special.

Special day experiences

In addition to fully organized trips, we can organize half-day or day tours for those customers who wish to dive deeply into one aspect of Japanese culture. Our strong connections with practising artisans and specialists mean that we can deliver something truly authentic and unique, beyond the mainstream cultural programs offered by more generic tour operators.

Academic tours

We can organize programs for visiting academic groups, industry associations or specialists who may be interested in hands-on workshops or theory-based seminars and lectures with local experts. Particularly in Kyoto, we have strong links with academics in the traditional arts industries, including the areas of architecture, carpentry, forestry and agriculture, textiles, lacquerwork, and the swordsmithing and metal crafts.

Online programs & conferences

We launched our first online cultural programs in 2020 and streamed live cultural content for various international conferences. We can offer cultural performances, workshops or lectures via online platforms for individuals or groups not able to physically visit Japan but who are still keen to learn about or experience aspects of Japanese culture.
